System

Since, civilizations earliest beginnings every culture utilized a system martial art. These systems were used in defense of self, family, property, village, monarchy, or in the conquest of the same. Each possessed it own unique philosophy and style. Passed down from generation to generation, teacher to student. These systems would come to be know by various names. The names they were given often reflected, the culture, the creator, master teacher, the way it was used, or another nostalgic influence. In time cultures came together through migration, trade, commerce, and conquest. With this blending of the cultures came a blending of the arts. From the Egyptians to the Persians, Greeks, and Romains, Yangshao culture to Qin Dynasty to the knights of medieval Europe, and the Samurai of feudal Japan. From the colonialist armadas of Britain, Portugal, Spain, who would come to conquer and colonize nearly every corner of the globe. Even the building of the American rail roads influenced the arts. In the 20th century WWI, WWII and the Korean conflict would further influence the martial arts. Throughout time, the martial arts has evolved. In our society the world is global the click of a mouse or the purchase of an airline ticket can open the door to any art. America is a melting pot were nearly all of the worlds cultures can be found. So can there arts. The mixing of the arts has always existed what is unique to our time is the amount of knowledge one can learn if they are willing. MMA has and always will exist as long as long as knowledge is passed down for generation to generation, teacher to student. MMA is not something new. What is different is that the martial arts has returned form demonstration to its original intent application. The ability to use what you know in a real fight, inevitable finding what works for you. Training MMA is not about demonstration it is about application. This understanding is the heart of our MMA program. For most of my life I have studied the martial arts under the worlds best. The knowledge they have and continue to share with me is instructed within the following areas.

The philosophy of Jeet Kune Do
exposed us to a "way" in which all the arts could be explored.
Determining that we are all structurally the same. and understanding
that motion/movement is universal. The artist should seek to developing
ones self through the arts, "using no way as way" absorb what is useful,
stripping away the inessentials until the truth is revealed. In other
words explore the arts as a whole don't get caught up in the doctrine of
another find what works for you. The martial arts is a "whole" forget
the name history has given to a piece of it. Understand each part has
strengths and a weaknesses. By learning to apply, integrate, and
incorporate principles, methods, and techniques of the various systems
until you are able to transcend what you have learned.

What you learn must
first and foremost be applied to the street. Without this knowledge you
have lost the very essence of the art the ability to defend yourself.
Should they wish to compete, students how are trained "street first"
can easily adapt there knowledge for Sport. If the need should ever
arise certain student can be shown the more lethal aspects of the art
thereby adapting the arts for combat.
Combat:
The highest level of martial training is combat. Combat is not
about tapping someone out it is about taking them out. Simple put the
purpose of combat is to kill the enemy as quickly and efficiently as
possible. Hopefully most will never have to experience a combat
environment. Unfortunately some of us have and some of us are today.
Street: In the street there are no rules and no referees most people will
never fight in the ring therefore you must understand how the art
applies in the street. unfortunately most street confrontation involve a
weapon. This along with other factors invalidates many commonly used
techniques. unless students learn how to apply techniques against
weapons and the other determining factors within street confrontations.
when one is threatened with loss of life street confrontation can also
quickly escalate into the first category. Many instructor neglect the
first two areas either because they do not understand or they choose to
focus on the more commercial aspect of the arts.
Sport: The "Ultimate Ring Sport" although purist would disagree with this
statement preferring the "No Holds Bard" approach of the early 90s. The
rules the UFC has installed have lead to a sport were martial artist can
test themselves against there opponent in a safe controlled manner
limiting the risk of death or serious injure. combatant are not limited
or confined to one aspect or area they are able to utilized what they
know within the three ranges were unarmed man on man combat occurs.
The (3) Areas Trained offensively and
defensively techniques are instructed within the following areas or
ranges stand-up, clinch, ground. Each range is combined with the others.
A generic version of this would be (punch, kick, throw, submit).
Combined within this structure are the theories, philosophies,
physiological, and physical conditioning principles, of the various
systems.

This is the Martial Arts
They are vast
No one person or system

Our purpose is to help you to discover
