Jun Fan Gung Fu The Art & The Philosophy of Jeet Kune Do

Bruce Lee combined Wing Chun, various techniques from Chinese systems, Western Boxing, Wrestling, Fencing, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu. Considered the grandfather of MMA Jun Fan was the first Modern Mixed Martial fighting system. This blended system emphasizes "ranges of combat", "kicking", "hand", and "trapping - grappling range". Through its philosophy J.K.D. effectively and forever changed the evolution of the martial arts.  Training in Jun Fan consists of punching, striking, kicking, knees, elbow, throwing, takedowns, trapping, and submissions. Due to his early death Lee never finished his system. In-fact it was never meant to be complete it was always a work in progress forever adapting, forever evolving, forever flowing

Jun Fan Kickboxing (SDA) Single Direct Attack or (SAA) Simple Angle Attack

The Simple Angle Attack is any simple attack thrown at an unexpected angle, sometimes preceded by feinting.  It is often set up by readjusting the distance with footwork. Study the elusive lead and simple attack. Check the eight basic blocking positions Broken Timing Angle Attack (BTAA)

A simple definition of (SDA) is any singular technique used to attack your opponent. In principle the technique can be from any art, style, or system. (SAA) is any singular technique used after changing the angle from centerline to an angle of attack.

Jun Fan Kickboxing (HIA) Hand Immobilization Attack

The Immobilization Attack is performed by applying an immobilizing preparation (trapping) on the opponent’s head (hair), hand or leg as you crash the line of engagement. The trapping keeps the opponent from moving that part of his body, offering you a safety zone from which to strike. Immobilization attacks can be prepared (set-up) by using any of the other four ways of attack and traps can be performed in combination or singularly. Study the stop-hit as well. Close own boundaries while closing distance (Watch out for stop hit or kick) HIA is simple trapping! The purpose of trapping is to make a way through your opponent’s defenses. Trapping is based on your opponent’s energy, when there is an absence of energy you hit.  This is the range where Wing Chung merges with Jun Fan Kickboxing and Grappling

(PIA) to “Ways of Attack”

The Progressive Indirect Attack is preceded by a feint or an uncommitted thrust to misdirect the opponent’s action or reactions in order to hit the opening line or gain a period of movement time. The progressive indirect attack is performed in a single forward motion without a withdrawal, as opposed to the single angulated attack preceded by a feint, which is actually two movements. Study feints and disengagements. Moving out of line whenever possible; boundaries close accordingly
